The <NO>OOXML leaders spoke at the 24th Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin just before New Year. They predict that Microsoft will manage to have their broken standard adopted by ISO on the 1st of April 2008, after heavy lobbying and control of the discussions of the Ballot Resolution Meeting in Geneva.

Here are their 5 predictions for OOXML in 2008:

1. Microsoft will control half of the table in Geneva;
2. Some countries will switch their votes from No to Yes;
3. The agenda won't be random and will discuss first the solutions proposed by Microsoft/ECMA;
4. Microsoft will get enough majority to get his standard ''technically'' approved;
5. The 30 days after Geneva will see heavy lobbying and a final adoption of the standard on the 1st of April 2008.

You can also read the other parts of the presentation here.

And don't forget: The Monster is not Dead yet
