summary:
Microsoft has stuffed again one more committee in Kenya (P-member) in order to secure a Yes vote, thanks to their puppets. Yet another committee successfully hijacked by Microsoft and their partners.
Yet Another Committee Stuffed in Kenya

Last Tuesday 14 August, the Technical Committee advising the KEBS (Kenya Bureau of Standards) met and voted on what to recommend to the Standards Body.

Out of 12 members in the committee, 7 were from Microsoft or were Microsoft dealers/partners and were actually brought into the committee by Microsoft.

The result of the vote is:

9 - Yes (Microsoft and dealers/partners, 1 university, I society)
2 - No (Kenya Airways and IBM East Africa)
1 - Abstain (Kenya Bureau of Standards and Committee Secretariat)

Yet Another Committee Stuffed with Microsoft puppets.

Does this site just references to all pro- OOXM ovtes as being bought by Microsoft ?
Why don't you present real company names and let the readers decide ?

It is not intended to harass companies and their owners. Usually affiliations are very well known and transparent. It is said that we can't have a real standard review process. It's a farce, I am sorry for ISO.

Is it a farce if companies that have an interest in implementing a standard join discussions on that standard (which btw also happened when ODF was voted on in ISO !!!)
or
is it a farce if companies and organisations that have an interest in another competing format join the discussions on a newly proposed standard to block that standard.
