Ütle EI Microsoft Office dokumendiformaadi ISO standardiseerimisele

Ma palun ISO liikmesriikidel hääletada ISO DIS 29500 (Office OpenXML või OOXML formaat) loomise vastu järgnevatel põhjustel:

  1. On juba olemas ISO26300 standard nimega Open Document Format(ODF): topelt-standard lisab kulusid, ebakindlust ja segadust tööstusele, valitsusele ja kodanikele;
  2. Pole ühtegi reaalselt OOXML spetsifikatsioonil töötavat rakendust: Microsoft Office 2007 salvestab oma versiooni OOXMList, mitte faili, mis vastaks OOXML spetsifikatsioonile;
  3. Spetsifikatsiooni dokumendist on veel infot puudu, näiteks kuidas kasutada autoSpaceLikeWord95 või useWord97LineBreakRules;
  4. Rohkem kui 10% standardis mainitud näidetest pole korrektne XML;
  5. Pole garantiid, et keegi saab kirjutada tarkvara, mis täielikult või osaliselt rakendab OOXML spetsifikatsiooni, ilma, et autor oleks vastutav patentide kahjustamise eest või ei peaks maksma patenditasusid Microsoftile;
  6. See pakutud standard läheb vastuollu teiste ISO standarditega nagu ISO 8601(Kuupäevade ja kellaaegade esitus), ISO 639(Nimede ja keelte esitamise koodid) või ISO/IEC 10118-3(Krüptograafiline hash)
  7. Tabelarvutuse faili formaadis on probleem, mis ei lase sisestada kuupäeva enne 1900. aastat: selline viga esineb nii OOXML spetsifikatsioonis kui ka tarkvara versioonides nagu Microsoft Excel 2000, XP, 2003 või 2007.
  8. See pakutud standard ei ole loodud kõigi huvitatud poolte(nagu tootjad, mjad, ostjad, kasutajad ja reguleerijad) kogemuse ja asjatundlikkuse kaasamisega, vaid ainult üksi Microsofti poolt.
