एक ISO स्टैंडर्ड के रूप में माइक्रोसॉफ्ट ऑफिस फोरमेट के लिए 'ना'
मैं ISO के राष्ट्रीय सदस्यों से ISO DIS २९५०० (Office OpenXML or OOXML format) बेलट के लिए 'ना' वोट करने का आग्रह करता हूँ. कारण नीचे लिखे हैं.
- वहाँ पहले से ही ओपन डोक्युमेंट फोरमेट (ODF) के नाम से ISO26300 स्टैंडर्ड उपलब्ध है. एक दोहरा लाइसेंस इंडस्ट्री, सरकार और नागरिकों के लिए अनिश्चितता और उलझन की स्थिति तथा कीमत को बढाता है
- कोई भी साबित करने लायक क्रियान्विति उपलब्ध नही है. माइक्रोसॉफ्ट ऑफिस २००७ OOXML का एक ख़ास वर्जन बनाता है, न की एक फाइल फोरमेट, जो OOXML specification से मेल खाए.
- ब्योरा देने वाले डोक्युमेंट में जानकारी अधूरी है, उदाहरण के लिए autoSpaceLikeWord95 or useWord97LineBreakRules किस प्रकार किया जाए.
- प्रस्तावित किए गए स्टैंडर्ड में जिक्र किए गए १० प्रतिशत से भी अधिक उदाहरण ऐसे हैं जो XML के रूप में validate नही होते हैं.
- इस बात की कोई गारंटी नही है कि कोई भी व्यक्ति बिना किसी पेटेंट क्षति या लाइसेंस शुल्क( माइक्रोसॉफ्ट को ) के लिए जिम्मेदार होते हुए, पूरी तरह से या अपूर्ण रूप में OOXML के specification को अमल करके सोफ्टवेयर लिख पायेगा.
- यह प्रस्ताव अन्य ISO स्टैंडर्ड के प्रतिकूल है. जैसे ISO 8601 (तारीख और समय को प्रदर्शित करना ), ISO 639 (नाम और भाषा को प्रदर्शित करने के लिए कोड) or ISO/IEC 10118-3 (क्रिप्टोग्राफिक हैश);
- स्प्रेडशीत फाइल फोरमेट में एक बग है I यह सन १९०० से पहले कि किसी तारीख को वर्जित करता है I इस प्रकार के बग न केवल OOXML specification को बल्कि माइक्रोसोफ्ट excel 200, XP, 2003, 2007 आदि सोफ्टवेयर वर्जन को भी प्रभावित करते हैं.
- यह स्टैंडर्ड प्रस्ताव अनुभव और रूचि लेने वाली पार्टियों ( जैसे निर्माता, बेचने वाले, खरीदने वाले, काम में लेने और नियमित करने वाले ) निपुणता के आधार पर नही बल्कि अकेले माइक्रोसोफ्ट द्वारा बनाया गया है.
