Si NEI til Microsoft Office-formatet som en ISO-standard

Jeg ber landsmedlemmene av ISO om å stemme «NEI» i avstemningen over ISO DIS 29500 (Office OpenXML eller OOXML-formatet) av følgende grunner:

  1. Standarden ISO26300, kalt Open Document Format (ODF), finnes allerede. To standarder koster mer og gir mer usikkerhet og forvirring for både industrien, regjeringa og innbyggerne.
  2. Det finnes ingen bevisbar implementasjon av OOXML-spesifikasjonen: Microsoft Office 2007 bruker en spesiell versjon av OOXML, og er ikke et filformat som stemmer overens med OOXML-spesifikasjonene.
  3. Det mangler informasjon i dokumentasjonen, for eksempel: Hvordan utfører man autoSpaceLikeWord95 (automatisk mellomrom som i Word 95) eller useWord97LineBreakRules (bruk reglene for linjeskift fra Word 1997).
  4. Mer enn 10 % av eksemplene som nevnes i standardforslaget er ikke i gyldig xml.
  5. Det finnes ingen garanti for at noen kan lage programmer som, helt eller delvis, implementerer OOXML-standarden uten å risikere patentbrudd eller lisensavgifter fra Microsoft.
  6. Dette standardforslaget er i konflikt med andre ISO-standarder, for eksempel ISO 8601 (visning av dato og klokkeslett), ISO 639 (kodeker for å gjengi språk og navn) eller ISO/IEC 10118-3 (kryptografiske strenger)
  7. Det er en feil i filformatet til regnearket som gjør det umulig å legge inn datoer før 1900. Slike feil påvirker både selve OOXML-spesifikasjonen og ulike programversjoner, som Microsoft Excel 2000, XP, 2003 or 2007.
  8. Dette standardforslaget har ikke oppstått ved å samle erfaring og ekspertise fra alle interessenter (som for eksempel produsenter, selgere, kjøpere, brukere og reguleringsmyndigheter), men er laget av Microsoft alene.
