NIE formátu Microsoft Office ako štandardu ISO

Žiadam národných členov ISO (Medzinárodnej organizácie pre štandardizáciu) hlasovať "NIE" vo voľbe ISO DIS 29500 (formát Office OpenXML alebo OOXML) z nasledujúcich dôvodov:

  1. Už existuje štandard ISO26300 nazvaný Otvorený formát dokumentov (ODF): dvojitý štandard prináša občanom, vláde a priemyslu náklady, nerozhodnosť a zmätok;
  2. Neexistuje dokázateľná implementácia špecifikácie OOXML: Microsoft Office 2007 produkuje špeciálnu verziu OOXML, nie formát súborov v zhode so špecifikáciou OOXML;
  3. V dokumente o špecifikácii chýbajú informácie, napríklad ako urobiť autoSpaceLikeWord95 alebo useWord97LineBreakRules;
  4. Viac ako 10% príkladov spomínaných v navrhovanom štandarde nie je platných ako XML;
  5. Neexistuje záruka, že niekto bude schopný napísať softvér, ktorý plne alebo čiastočne implementuje špecifikáciu OOXML bez toho, aby podliehal poplatkom za patenty Microsoftu alebo ich ignoroval;
  6. Tento návrh na štandard je v rozpore s inými štandardmi ISO, ako ISO 8601 (Reprezentácia dátumu a času), ISO 639 (Kódy na reprezentáciu mien a jazykov) alebo ISO/IEC 10118-3 (kryptografický hash);
  7. Je tu chyba vo formáte súborov tabuľkového procesoru, ktorá zakazuje zadanie akéhokoľvek dátumu pred rokom 1900: takéto chyby vplývajú na špecifikáciu OOXML ako aj na verzie softvéru ako sú Microsoft Excel 2000, XP, 2003 alebo 2007.
  8. Tento návrh na štandard nebol vytvorený spojením skúseností a znalostí všetkých zainteresovaných strán (ako tvorcov, predajcov, kupujúcich, používateľov a riadiacich orgánov), ale Microsoftom samotným.
